The Sony XE8505 is a high-end 2017-2018 TV, but it ranks behind the best 2017 models. This model has many variants with small differences that are usually design / tuners / MotionFlow. This TV is only available in large sizes: from 55 inches. The Smart will be upgraded to AndroidTV 7.0 and does not include the new processor that is reserved for the XE93 premium series, although the X1 works well. As image improves the model of the year 2016 in both darker blacks and brighter, the panel is VA instead of the IPS of the XD8505. The brightness level is not as high as in other models of direct competition, so it is compatible with HDR10 (currently recommended) so it is a great high-end TV, but not the best in HDR.

Our opinion on the Sony XE8505 is good, it is a good LCD-LED TV with VA panel. This model includes the X1 processor that enhances images with fast movements and scaling, the superior processor is only available in the XE93. It is a TV recommended for those who want good picture quality, who like to watch movies in the dark and for a regular use, is not a recommended TV if you see it from the sides as their viewing angle is reduced.
