LG OLED A1: Cheapest OLED TV 2021?

The LG OLED A1 is a 2021 high-end TV. This TV is the cheapest of the 2021 OLED TVs. As a good OLED TV it offers spectacular blacks, deep blacks even with the lights off as well as the best viewing angle. But there is life beyond the OLED panel and the LG A1 is where it "limps": the native frequency of the panel is 50Hz and that in fast moving images you can notice it also does not include any HDMI2.1 port, it is not prepared for the new consoles of the future. Other aspects to take into account are the maximum brightness, which is behind Samsung's QLEDs. The Smart platform is fine but it is the one from last year: webOS 5.0 not the new one that is mounted on 2021 TVs.

  • Best: OLED, blacks, viewing angle, price
  • Worst: 50Hz, maximum brightness

Alternative to LG A1?

Do not forget to check out out "TV Buying Guide"
  • Sony A80J: Sony's OLED 2021, competes directly with the C1/A1 but somewhat more expensive.
  • Samsung QN90A: brighter, better for rooms with direct light sources and for HDR. More expensive.
  • LG C1: The older brother OLED of LG 2021, it costs about £300-400 more but it is a better and more complete TV.

Our opinion LG A1 (veredict):

Our opinion on the LG A1 is not entirely good although it is a very good TV. We can speak highly of any OLED TV, but in this case they have saved to make it a cheaper TV and launch it even in 48 inches. The saving of the 50Hz panel and not including HDMI2.1 seems to us that it is too much to spend more than £1200 on a 55-inch TV. If you really want an excellent TV to watch movies in the dark or sports with the whole family, this is an excellent TV, it gives you everything you are looking for. If you are more fussy and you are going to play with the TV or watch high quality HDR content, it may be that spending the cost of the OLED LG C1 you will feel better with your new TV.

Comparative OLED LG 2021 G1 C1 A1 B1 Which one to buy?

Our comparison of all LG OLED TVs this 2021. These TVs are high-end and they all look great. The resolution is 4K and they include one of the best Smart platforms of the moment. LG is the queen of OLEDs and they offer the best viewing angle and also the deepest blacks, ideal for watching movies with the lights off. televisions that work great for all kinds of uses. The price is quite high, between £1,300 and £2,000 in 55 inches.

Difference LG G1 vs C1 vs B1 vs A1

The LG OLED G1 is LG's best TV 2021 and probably the best TV of the year. It has everything you need such as the new HDMI 2.1 ports to be able to play 4K / 120Hz. The EVO panel that it mounts allows it to reach a higher maximum brightness than the rest of the OLEDs. The processor is the best from LG: Alpha 9 image processor. Audio is 60W 4.2. Available from 55 inches.

The LG OLED C1 is the evolution of the best-seller CX of 2020, not gutter with the EVO panel. nor does it have a design as ultra-thin as the G1 but it maintains the HDMI2.1 ports and the Alpha 9 Image Processor. The Audio is 40W 2.2. The C1 is sold from 48 inches.

The LG OLED B1 is one notch below the C1. The main difference is that it does not incorporate the Alpha 9 processor, it comes with a somewhat inferior processor: Alpha 7. Another notable difference is that only 2 of the four HDMI ports with 2.1. It is available from 55 inches.

The LG OLED A1 is the cheapest of the OLEDs of this 2021 from LG, the panel is inferior with native 50Hz instead of 100Hz and has one less HDMI and none is HDMI 2.1, so it is not so good for gamers, the Smart is from last year. Audio is 20W 2.0. It is available from 48 inches.

* The LG OLED CX is from last year (2020) but it is still on sale and is very similar to the OLED C1, with a previous Smart version the differences in image quality are few, very few and can be found on sale.

Reference price 55 inches:

  • LG A1 £1200
  • LG B1 £1300
  • LG C1 £1500
  • LG G1 £1700

Conclusion:

For us the LG OLED C1 is the most balanced, if you do not have budget problems the G1 is superior for the panel it mounts, but of course you have to pay for it. On the A1 and B1 they do not convince us and we prefer to buy the OLED of the 2020 CX that will be at a similar price and is higher. In conclusion, the LG OLED C1 is for us the best option to buy a high-end TV in 2021, but we would expect to find an offer for about £1500.

Sony A80J: the most recommended OLED 2021? (A84J)

Sony A80J / A84J is an excellent 2021 OLED TV. Sony has launched this year an OLED panel with GoogleTV as a Smart platform and with HDMI 2.1 ports prepared for true gamers. The A80J offers 4K resolution and a powerful image processor that handles low-quality content well. The HDR formats that it allows with: HDR10, DolbyVision and HLG. The OLED panel offers the blackest blacks and an unbeatable viewing angle, making it a suitable TV for all uses and for any situation in the room, even if the sun shines directly on the screen (not recommended) or it is a Very sunny room may lack a bit of maximum brightness. As for the sound system, it has Acoustic Surface Audio +: the sound comes directly from the screen, with actuators behind the TV that vibrate.

* The Sony A84J is pretty much the same: but it includes Essentially Rich Color Enhancer enhances neutral colors to a more vivid tone and a built-in microphone

  • The best: OLED, HDMI 2.1, 4K upscaling
  • The worst: maximum brightness

Alternative to Sony A80J?

Do not forget to check out out "TV Buying Guide"
  • LG OLED C1: The direct competitor, very similar in image quality but somewhat better for gamers.
  • Samsung QLED QN90A: It is not an OLED but it can compete with them

Our opinion Sony A80J (veredict):

Our opinion about the Sony A80J is very good, we are in front of some of the best televisions of the moment. 4K resolution and a good Smart platform. OLED screens are for us the best of the best, even if they don't have as much brightness as Samsung's best QLEDs. The audio is one of the best in current televisions, although we always recommend buying an external audio system if you are going to buy a £2000 TV. The price that we recommend as a reference is about £1500 in 55 inches, so you must wait for the price to drop or get a good deal. The only question that arises is whether to spend more on the older brother Sony A90J or if the LG C1 OLED is better, which we also recommend a little more for gamers. In conclusion, you are buying the Sony A80J this year 2021, you are not making a mistake.

LG C1 opinion best 2021 oled tv (C16LA)

The LG C1 is the television you should buy in 2021, it's that easy and simple ... we could end our analysis here: LG is the leader in OLED televisions, it has been improving its already excellent televisions with this technology, which is the best in the world for years. At the moment, it offers the cheapest OLEDs along with the best, or one of the best, Smart platforms. This TV offers 4K resolution, the best black level ideal for watching TV in dark living rooms or with the lights off. The viewing angle is excellent and although the maximum brightness peak is not as high as Samsung's QLEDs, LG's OLED adapts well to ambient light adding an extra brightness that is appreciated. The 40W 2..2CH audio is correct but it is not the best thing about this TV, if you want the feeling of a home theater you should buy an external sound bar. For gamers it is also good as it includes the HDMI 2.1 ports and about 10ms of inputlag. This TV is offered from 48 inches to 77 inches and an excellent range of sizes to suit any living room. (LG C16, LG C15, LG C14 variants)

          • The best: OLED OLED OLED HDMI 2.1
          • The worst: Price, maximum brightness, some reflections

          • LG CX: equivalent model of 2020, if you find it on sale it is a good option to save.
          • Samsung QN90A: More brightness, better for bright rooms or rooms with direct light sources.
          • Sony A80J: Sony's OLED 2021, competes directly with the C1 but somewhat more expensive.

          Our opinion LG C1 (veredict):

Our opinion on the LG C16LA is excellent, it is one of the best TVs of the year, as was the OLED CX in 2020 or the C9 the year before. OLED technology is the best for enjoying movies, sports, TV Shows, ... It offers us the best viewing angle: ideal for large rooms along with deep blacks ideal for watching movies in the dark. Its competitors this year are OLEDs from other brands: which are more expensive but not better and the best QLEDs from Samsung. For us, buying the OLED LG C1 is a success and if your budget allows it, do not hesitate: this is your television, although it is not the best TV of the year, this is the television that sets the standard of high quality, the only best ones are the LG OLED G1 and Sony AJ90 but they are a lot more expensive and not much better.

Difference LG OLED CX vs C1, which one to buy?

LG OLED TVs are the best you can buy in 2021 TVs. The LG CX and LG C1 models are two of the most recommended.

They are two very similar televisions, the CX is the 2020 and the C1 is the 2021 update. The main difference is the Alpha 9 gen 4 processor, which allows content other than 4K to be scaled somewhat better, which is worth considering since most of the content is not in 4K.

These TVs feature the deepest blacks and a wide viewing angle, the maximum peak brightness is one of their weakest points and remains similar to the CX model. Connectivity is also maintained with 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs one with eARC / ARC support.

The design is almost identical and the Smart webOS has evolved little or nothing, more aesthetic than anything else.

Comparison LG C1 vs LG CX, which one to buy?

The C1 does not really offer a major change over the CX, the most notable is the new processor and the new evolution of WebOS 6.0. In terms of image quality, it is very good but there are no notable differences between the two televisions. Let's decide between the new or the old model: if you already have the CX, don't buy the C1, if you still find the CX in stores and you can save more than 150£ ahead with the CX 20202 model, if the price is similar then better buy the C1.

If you really want a better TV than the 2020 CX you should look for the LG OLED G1, which is more expensive. If you want a TV of the best and with the best value for money, both the C! like the CX they more than meet the highest expectations of any buyer.

          Differences LG OLED C16 C15 C14

The LG OLED C1 is undoubtedly one of the best televisions of the year 2021, it is not the best but it is in the highest range with an adequate price, the best televisions are usually more expensive than this OLED.

The most remarkable thing about this TV is that the OLED screen offers us the best image quality, excellent colors and an unsurpassed black level, ideal for all situations and for all uses, even for gamers. This OLED TV is offered in screen sizes starting at 48 inches.

The C14LA C15LA and C16LA variants are technically the same and the difference is only aesthetic.

          Differences C14 vs C15 to C16:

The difference between these models is only aesthetic, and some of these models are sold exclusively in some department stores

LG OLED CX: the best TV 2020. Our review

The LG OLED CX is a TOP 2020 TV, the best you can buy this year. This TV is suitable for all types of content and all kinds of situations, both for viewing in dark or bright rooms and for viewing from the front or from the sides. OLED technology is the best and only competes with the best Samsung QLEDs. In image quality the processor allows images to be scaled more efficiently. On the maximum brightness (no more than 1000nits), which is the main "defect" of OLED screens, influences the quality of high-quality HDR content. The Smart is the evolution of its own system as for years, webOS, which works really well, especially it is comfortable to use combined with its MagicRemote remote control. WebOS is compatible with all major applications and also with Apple devices. The audio system improves the dialogues of the movies automatically. In connections we highlight that the LG OLED is equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports with bandwidth for 4K120, prepared for the consoles of the future and an input delay of 13 ms in Game Mode.
          * The 48-inch model is identical to the larger ones: same panel, processor, design and the same characteristics.

          Our opinion LG CX (veredict):

Our opinion on the LG CX is excellent, the best of the best. There are televisions that can be better in some aspect measured in the laboratory, but when you see a CX OLED there is no doubt, it is the television that you must buy if you have money to pay for it. This TV combines everything you need, the image quality is excellent, although the maximum brightness does not reach the levels of the best Samsung QLEDs, it allows you to see exceptionally high-quality HDR content. The audio has an automatic improvement in the dialogues of the movies, nothing exceptional, if you want a good audio system you have to buy external speakers. It is a TV prepared for the game consoles of the future, it scales non-4K content well, ...

LG OLED C9: our best TV review of 2019

The LG OLED C9 is probably the best TV we recommend to buy in 2019. It is an OLED TV, with the best image, black level, angle of vision etc. although it loses in maximum brightness level against the Samsung QLED. For image quality we can say that their direct rivals are the best of each of the companies, but this LG C9 includes the Smart webOS that is still one of the best, it varies a bit by facilitating access to content by ordering more used applications, in addition includes the Google Assistant. This 4K TV is compatible with all HDR formats, including DolbyVision and incorporates the necessary ports / connections / tuners. The LG C9 presents a balance between the best possible image and the undisguised price.

Our opinion about the LG OLED C9 is very good, it is for us the TV that you must buy this 2019 if you have a big budget and you intend to spend ‎£1600 on a new television. The LG C9 competes with the best of other brands such as the Sony OLED or the Samsung Q90R: Our best comparative TV 2019. It is a complete TV, excellent image quality and compatible with all current content, has one of the best, but the best, Smart system, suitable to see from the front or from the sides with or without light, etc ... It is clear that spending more than ‎£1600 on a TV 55in you will not fail, it will be very good but this it is within the TOP models that the best value for money presents at the moment.

Sony AG8: Review Excellent OLED 2019-2020

The Sony AG8 TV is an OLED, one of the most recommended TVs of the year if we do not have the price in gutter. The image quality is excellent since it combines perfectly the image of an OLED panel: uniformity, excellent contrast, great viewing angle, with the careful and accurate colors of Sony. This TV is compatible with some of the best HDR formats: DolbyVision and of course with 4K resolution. The Smart is good although there is something behind LG or Samsung for us in ease of use. Audio is somewhat superior to the competition with Sony Acoustic Surface technology, which uses the screen as a vibrating surface for the speakers, but is not compatible with Atmos (only the AG9)

          Our opinion Sony AG8 (veredict):

Our opinion about the Sony AG8 is very good, it is a TV designed to compete with the best TVs of the year from other brands such as the Samsung Q90R or the LG C). OLED technology is ideal for watching movies in the dark while maintaining an excellent image although we see it from the sides. A good Smart, good functionality for video games and compatibility with the best current formats make it an excellent high-priced TV, so if your budget is not high you should look for alternatives not OLED or wait for an offer.

          Alternatives to Sony AG8:
LG OLED C9: Similar in everything, the price similar to the AG8, something better the Smart.
Samsung Q90R: Brighter but with slightly less viewing angle, like the LG something better the Smart and a similar price
Sony OLED AG9: the older brother, shares most specifications, but has a higher processor and more powerful audio compatible with Atmos. More expensive.

Sony OLED AG9: the best image and best sound 2019

The Sony AG9 is a TV OLED 2019, this TV is the best that Sony presents for this year. The image quality is excellent and its sound stands out above the competition. The screen offers excellent uniformity and a wide viewing angle, with 4K resolution and a good HDR: compatible with HDR10 and DolbyVision. The Smart platform is good, it works on Android, but for us it is one point behind LG or Samsung in this aspect. It should be added that it is recommended for gamers and that its AcusticSurface audio system with Atmos compatibility makes it the best TV audio of the moment.

Our opinion about the Sopny OLED AG9 is very good, excellent as long as we do not consider the price. Its processor handles the images perfectly and the details are excellent. A TV ideal for all uses: cinema, sports, for light or dark situations, wide viewing angle. In short, we can say that if you buy this TV, you are not wrong, but you have to pay for the heat, which is not bad. The best thing that Sony has evolved is in the design, it has returned to normal since in 2018 it "flip" with a design too innovative that did not allow to hang the TV on the wall.

          Alternatives to Sony AG9:
Sony OLED AG8: the great alternative, it shares the majority of specifications, something worse in Audio and a somewhat less powerful processor but lower price.
LG OLED C9: Similar in everything but audio, the price similar to the AG8, something better the Smart. Price as the AG8 (about £400 less than the AG9)
Samsung Q90R: Brighter but with slightly less angle of view, with the LG something better the Smart and a price £400 cheaper than the AG9

Sony AG8 vs AG9 Which one to choose?

Both TVs are TOP 2019 models, the best you can buy this year. They share most specifications: OLED, 4K, good Smart, HDR10, DolbyVision, ... These Sony 2019 TOP TVs offer the best picture quality of the moment.

The main difference is that the Sony AG8 is a cheaper model with a less powerful video processor and without Dolby Atmos support.

          Processor:
The AG8 incorporates the X1 Extreme processor while the X1 Ultimate to improve contrast, color and detail.

          Audio:
Both televisions include the Acoustic Surface Audio technology, central television speaker mode, the sound is emitted directly from the center of the screen to provide an acoustic synchronized with the image. In addition, two subwoofers provide powerful bass
The AG9 with Acoustic Surface Audio + sound technology has support for Dolby Atmos, it can be broadcast through the HDMI ARC
The AG8 with Acoustic Surface Audio technology (without "+"), does not have Dolby Atmos.

          Design:

          Price:
The price is high on both models, but the Sony AG8 is about £400/600 cheaper at 55/65 inches than the AG9.

          Conclusion:

Sony AG8 OLED recommended for lovers of image quality who do not want to pay an excessive price and the Sony AG9 4K OLED for home theater fans who want the best in 4K Image and sound at the level of the image. You can convert the AG8 with a good external audio system.

Sony A1 vs Sony AF8: Which one is better?

These televisions are the best on sale in 2017 and 2018 from Sony. There are two TVs with very high-end OLED technology and very expensive. Actually they are two TVs very similar in image quality and performance, the audio is through the screen so they do not incorporate speakers the main difference lies in the design. Maybe the MotionFlow is a bit improved, ideal for sports, but on the other hand the sound is a step behind the 2017 model.

          Main difference: Design

One of the most surprising aspects of the OLED A1 2017 is its inclination, which makes it unique but many are annoyed by what in this new model AF8 the screen is completely vertical, which also facilitates its assembly if we are going to hang it on the wall.

          Our score:
This assessment is totally subjective, with non-absolute values but comparative ones. The best TV of the year has a 10 in image quality and we value the rest from that reference.

Sony AF8 OLED best Sony TV 2018

The Sony AF8 is the new Sony OLED TV for 2018-2019. This model is one of the best televisions that you can buy today. Currently, if your budget has no limits or if you really are a lover of the image quality your TV should be OLED, the best contrast, with darker blacks and a good angle of view, an ideal TV to see front or from the sides, to see in illuminated or dark rooms, movies or sports, .... It is a TV ready to play all the new formats of high quality HDR and 4K resolution. The Smart platform is Android TV and the sound is good: 50W without speakers since the Acoustic Surface technology is used. It is a TV very similar to the OLED 2017 A1, but with vertical design.

          Our opinion Sony A1(veredict):

Our opinion about the Sony OLED AF8 is very good, it is an excellent TV, it is among the best along with OLED C8 of LG and Samsung Q9FN (QLED). The price is an important aspect so we have to assess how much we are willing to spend since the model 2017 Sony OLED A1 is very similar, almost identical in image quality and costs considerably less, the big change is in design since the model 2017 does not suit all buyers. The AF8 is a TV recommended for all those who want an excellent TV (except the gamers since the inputlag in FullHD is too high) and who do not have budget problems.

LG OLED B8: cheapest OLED 2018-2019

The LG OLED B8 is one of the best televisions of the moment, OLED technology is currently superior but they are very expensive TVs, if you find them on offer about 1800 £ in 55 inches. This TV is compatible with all the best HDR formats and has deep blacks and a wide viewing angle. LG OLED models for this 2018 has few variations and this is really the bottom TV and also the most economical. The difference between this LG OLED B8 and the next OLED C8 model is the alpha9 processor that is not included in this model and achieves a slightly more realistic color representation in the upper ones. The Smart is good, for us the best of the moment and the Magic Control remote control is included. Audio is good but it is not up to its image quality so if you want to enjoy music on TV you should buy an external audio playback system.
          • The best: deep blacks, uniform panel, viewing angle.
          • The worst: starting price, audio, processor lower than other OLED models

Our opinion about the LG OLED B8 is good, it is an excellent high-end TV, but the lack of the new processor that includes the OLED C8 makes us dislike paying the price of a very expensive TV when for 100-150£  more we have an even better TV We advise you to search in different stores and take advantage of an offer of the C8 OLED where the price is similar to the B8, if a budget is something more just you can buy the B8 OLED quietly because it is a really excellent TV for us.

Sony OLED A1: our 2018 review

The Sony A1 is an OLED TV for sale in 2018, although it is a model that is on the market since 2017. This is a TV with excellent picture quality, like all OLEDs it is ideal for watching movies in the dark, with a novel of insurmountable blacks and a great angle of vision. If we look for some unfavorable point in image quality: the level of brightness is a little lower than the brightest in the market, although more than enough. The Smart is Android that is not the best and the design is unique, it is a TV that is slightly inclined and rests directly on the floor, for some users this can be a handicap. The sound is through the vibration of the screen, without speakers.
          • The best: Image quality, design
          • The worst: Smart, design

          Our opinion Sony A1(veredict):

Our opinion about the Sony A1 is very good, it is a television that will give you everything you are looking for in image and design quality. This TV looks perfectly from different angles and you have to be very fussy to find some point against it, only if you compare it with the best of other brands. The design may like it or not so it should be one of the decisive factors and not so much the incontestable image quality. This is a TV similar in image to the LG C7 and a little lower in brightness to the new LG C8. The LG C7 is a good option to save about 400£ and have a TV with a more standard design and quality of parity image, the LG C8 improves a bit the maximum brightness and has a better Smart platform, is more expensive than the C7 but very similar to the Sony A1, at least during 2018.

LG OLED C8: Opinion to buy the best TV 2018-2019

The LG OLED C8 is one of the best televisions on sale in 2019. The OLED panel allows unsurpassed blacks in addition to a wide viewing angle. The level of brightness and colors are very good, which had always been one of the weak points of OLED TVs. As new to the C7 model last year improves with the Alpha 9 processor. It is also something better for gamers. Sound is bad for a TV that costs more than £ 2000, we recommend an external system like a SoundBar. The Smart platform is still webOS, one of the best together with Samsung's Tizen.
          • The best: deep blacks, uniform panel, viewing angle.
          • The worst: starting price, audio.

          Technical / Specifications:

          Our opinion LG C8 (veredict):

Our opinion about the LG OLED C8 is very good, we think that this is one of the best televisions that can be purchased if we do not consider the price. The best thing is that it is a TV that adapts well to any room, bright or dark and offers a deep black ideal for watching movies. The HDR with many colors is good as well as the brightness although in this case perhaps the QLED Q9 from Samsung is a bit higher. The C8 is a TV that improves the C7 of the previous year with more brightness and better color reproduction. The Smart is still good. Our recommendation is to buy the LG C8 but wait for it to go down a bit its price, buy this one before buying it with the price of the Sony A1 2017 or OLG C7 which are really very good too.

Choosing TV OLED B7 vs C7

The most affordable LG OLED TVs for 2018 are the B7 and the C7. These are the same TV picture quality and the difference lies in the design and audio system. They are excellent televisions to watch movies with wide viewing angle one of the best Smart, etc. These are the most recommended TVs of the year if your budget is high. It seems that in most stores the price is almost the same, a little less the B7.

Audio is somewhat higher in the C7 because it includes Dolby Vision ™ Audio. If you want to enjoy home theater, we think it is better to buy an external audio system.

Well although in image quality are very similar the new models improve a bit the maximum brightness to reproduce HDR, although they are not up to the best LCD-LED is not a real problem for most users who want to play HDR content.
The B7 inputlag is less than 30ms and the C bit more than 30ms in Game Mode (according to the American web)

          OLED Problems
Image retention is not a common problem, but if it happens has automatic compensation cycles to clean the panel. These retentions can appear if we have still images such as PC monitor or channel logos.

          Design:

          Recommended Price:
          • 55C7: £3100
          • 65C7: £4700
          • 55B7: £3000
          • 65B7: £4500

          Conclusion:

The two TVs are "equal" we think it is a good idea to buy cheaper from both and choose a good external audio system if we want a home theater. On the problems of the OLED nothing at all if we are going to make a habitual domestic use, we do not recommend them for shops or bars.

LG OLED C7: Opinion best TV 2017-2018

The OLED C7 TV is next to LG B7 the cheapest OLED 2017-3028 TV. It is a television with an excellent image quality, especially for the uniformity of the panel and the deepest blacks. Also the images with fast movements are very good so it becomes the best TV of the year if we consider its really moderate price (within the best televisions of the year like Sony A1). The Smart system is good: webOS and it is compatible with all current formats. To see low quality content, this scale well, but not better than other televisions. The viewing angle is wide so it fits well to all types of rooms. Audio is perhaps the weakest part of this TV, if you want to enjoy home cinema it is advisable to buy an external audio system.

          Technical / Specifications:

Screen: Size 55 and 65 inches. Flat
          Technology: OLED
          Resolution: 4K UHD 3840x2160
          HDR: DolbyVision, HLG, HDR10
          Smart TV: webOS 3.5
          Other:

          • Magic Reomte Control
          • Audio: 40W

          Location:

The LG C7 is good to see in any lighting situation thanks to its OLED panel, which guarantees deep blacks if we watch the TV in the dark. It has a lower brightness level than some high-end LCD-LEDs but it is enough to see films in brightly lit rooms optimally. The viewing angle on OLED TVs is wide so it is recommended to view from the sides and from the front.

          Uses:

It is an excellent TV for all uses, although to offer its full potential we recommend quality content. We emphasize the cinema: thanks to its really black blacks. It is good for watching sports and for gamers as well. OLED TVs can temporarily retain an image if it is too long fixed on the screen (channel logo). This hold is temporary and the TV has a process to refresh the image.

          Design LG C7:

Do not forget to check out out "TV Buying Guide 2017"

          Our opinion LG C7 (veredict):

Our opinion on the LG C7 is excellent, it has a great image quality in any situation and for any use, something that we should ask any TV of this top price. It is an excellent television for movies, sports or high quality content. If you're going to watch TV it's just right, but you should spend less on a simpler TV in this case. The SmartTV is one of the best currently, although you have to remember that it is not the same as using a Computer. The weak point is its audio quality, which although it is not bad is not at the height of the best of the year. We recommend you buy the LG OLED C7 or B7 (which is the same with different design) during 2017 if you are looking for the best and you have a budget about £3,000 in 55 inches or £4,300 in 65 inches.

OLED vs QLED vs LCD-LED which is better?

LED technology came to the TV set a few years ago. Today LG stands out for its OLED panels, although at a price they can not compete with the mid-range televisions so at the moment most of the televisions are LCD-LED (called LED TV).

This year more brands are launched to OLED models (it seems that manufactured by LG) and Samsung presents its top models with a new designation: QLED televisions.

          Which technology is better?

First of all we clarify that LCD-LEDs are not as "good" as other technologies but it has a price that fits all pockets, OLED or QLED models are all high-end (about 2000£ for 55 inches).

The best of OLEDs are their deep blacks, but they do not get peaks of brilliance as high as other technologies. QLED TVs are not enhanced OLEDs, it's a new quantum dots technology that aims to bring together the brightness and color gamut of LCD-LEDs with the deep blacks of OLEDs.

NanoCell: LG is not far behind and will compete with Samsung's QLED with its new NanoCell technology, LCD-LED with deep blacks and greater color palette.

It seems that the blacks of OLED TVs and their consequent contrast are still unequaled, although that is not all in the quality of image and the new technologies discussed, both QLED and NanoCell are approaching these levels. In addition, both technologies improve some of the OLED deficits, greater brightness, more durability, lower price, ... While waiting to see the reviews and decide if the contrast really comes close to the OLED.

          LG OLED B7: Cheapest OLED

The LG B7 is the cheapest OLED 2018 TVs of this brand. This model improves the previous model in brightness and this one has improvements Smart. The picture quality is not much better than the 2016 OLED models. The price of LG B7 is similar to the best LCD-LED 2017. The highlight of TVs with this technology is its incredibly deep blacks, the resolution is compatible with 4K and has the maximum compatibility in HDR: HDR10, DolbyVision and HLG in a 10-bit panel? This TV is not cheap but the picture quality does not have to envy the top OLEDs that cost £4000

          Technical / Specifications:

Screen: Size 55 and 65 inches. Flat

          Our opinion LG B7 (veredict):

Our opinion on the LG B7 is good, very good if you want a good OLED TV without spending a huge fortune. This TV costs a small fortune but the picture quality is excellent. The black level is the best and bright enough to be compatible with HDR of all types. The ports are prepared for the best resolution and Smart webOS remains the best, especially thanks to the remote MagicControl that comes included. The only negative point, besides the price, is that OLED technology tends to have less durability and is still new in these sizes. Other brands present OLED televisions but LG is the one that puts in the market a model to price not exorbitant.
