Sony XE8005 XE8004: 4K HDR10 midrange IPS

The Sony XE8005 is a midrange model with 4K resolution. This TV has the AndroidTV platform to be updated during this year. Screen sizes range from 43 to 55 inches. It does not incorporate 3D technology, almost no current TV includes it. This model is behind the XE8505 especially: the native frequency of the panel, which in this case is 50Hz with MotionFlow 200 / 400Hz and its panel IPS. The panel is EdgeLED Triluminos, a proprietary Sony technology that works well. As picture quality has compatibility with HDR10, its IPS panel offers good viewing angle but lower black depth so we consider that the image quality is lower. The XE8005 does not include the X1 processor, which improves on the XE8505 model in addition to being VA panel.

Our opinion Sony XE8005 (veredict):

Our opinion on the Sony XE8005 is not good. It is a medium-range TV with 4K resolution, but its price is not low. This TV does not include the image processor X1 and the panel is 50Hz native, two aspects that improve the image quality of the following model XE8505. Also the panel is IPS so it is not recommended to watch movies in low light environments, as blacks are not deep. If you are looking for a TV with good resolution, compatible with 4K and HDR10 and IPS panel, for your best viewing angle, we recommend the LG UJ750V or you can look for the XE8505 which is a higher model, at 55 inches costs about £250 more , But it really changes in image quality.
