Our comparative Sony X8508 vs Samsung JU7000 vs LG UF850V vs Panasonic CX700B.

These are the 4K TVs, of the major brands, high quality and an affordable price. These are not the best TV 2015, which is priced at more than  £2000,  you can visit our post with: 2015's best TV of each brand.
Ultra HD resolution has come, this year half of the models are 4K and expect them to be even more common in 2016. Anyway we recommend you visit our TV buying guide before deciding on a model.

All models proposed here are excellent TVs and are priced between  £1,300  and  £1,800 in 55 inches.
Samsung JU7000: Full review
It is a mid-range TV Samsung, below the "JS" series. This model is also available with curved screen: JU7500. It is a suitable TV to watch TV especially in front, with good contrast.
It has active 3D and the Smart TV is one of the best 2015. It is recommended for gamers, for its low input lag.

Sony X8508C: Full review
It is the second step of Sony for 2015, behind X9005C. This TV has a good 2D image quality, the VA panel is ideal for dark environments without losing contrast and especially if we will not see it from the side, where it loses a bit of quality quickly.
The SmartTV is correct, but far from the best of 2015. We expect an evolution of Android TV soon. It also includes active 3D. The input lag is about 40ms, good to play, but too much for true gamers.

LG UF850V: Full review
Like the other models this is also the second step of the brand UF850V 2015. LG is a good TV with IPS panel: wide viewing angle, good brightness and colors but the contrast is less than the models with VA panel. A TV highly recommended for the whole family, but not if we watch films in the dark or in a dimly lit room.
It includes passive 3D and the Smart TV is the evolution of the 2014 model, the webOS 2.0 is considered the best Smart 2015 with the Magic Control. The input lag is about 45ms, too much for gamers.

Panasonic CX700B: Full review
This TV is the midrange of Panasonic in 2015. It is not the best or the second best TV Panasonic 4K 2015, is behind CX800E and CX900. While waiting to go on sale this TV can compete with the rest of televisions here compared with a price considerably lower. The best of Panasonic CX700B is the 2D image quality, with good contrast and good brightness.
The CX700B Panasonic has 3D and Smart: My Home Screen is not as good as LG and Samsung platforms. Inputlag values below 35ms make it a good choice for gamers, but the motion blur doesn't work perfectly.

Approximate prices 55 inches:
  • Samsung JU7000:  £1,700
  • Sony X8508C: £1,800
  • LG UF850V: £1,400
  • Panasonic CX700: £1,100
Our conclusion on these TV models 4K 2015 is quite clear: There aren't cheap televisions, and we believe that should work well in all conditions:
We believe that the LG UF850V is not recommended because of its low contrast, typical of IPS panels and only recommend it as a family TV with great extras, good 3D, Best Smart ...

Sony was characterized last year as the best brand for gamers, but the 2015 models have more input lag than Samsung. The Sony X8508C has great image quality, but its price is too high compared to other brands models reviewed  here.

The Samsung JU7000 is a complete TV with good image, good extras, low inputlag, ... in short a TV highly recommended, including its price a little tighter than the Sony. We do not recommend this TV if you're going to watch TV forever from the side.

On the other hand we have the Panasonic CX700B which costs about £200-400 less than other models and remains almost the same 2D image quality, but loses extras, and worse Smart. We hope time to market of the CX800, but is also a TV highly recommended if you do not give importance to the extras, one of the best value for money of 2015.

We believe that these models are a good choice if we want a very good TV without paying a small fortune.
