What is Hz on a TV LED? (PMI PQI Motionflow BMR)

advertising
What Hz mean on TV? What they are for Hz (refresh rate) on current TVs? The difference between PMI, PQI, Motion Flow, ...? Which means Real refresh rate? What is Refresh Rate?

Advertising:
The Hz is a specification that much advertised to sell TVs, especially since the arrival of LED technology: 1200Hz, 2400Hz, ... but these values are not "real". Each brand improved its rate of "real" refresh, which provides the panel with electronics and software to increase the value, and each brand calls it with a different name.

What is refresh rate?

The refresh rate: number of times the screen presents data per second. This value is given by the panel. Currently we only panels 50Hz, 100Hz and 200Hz.
The Hz are used to: view images with rapid movement optimally, without trails (ghosting): You can visit our post: How influences the refresh rate on televisions

PQI vs PMI vs BMR vs Motionflow

Each brand names its value refresh image with a different name, which complicates the comparison. Also this year 2015 most brands have changed, for example Samsung: CMR -> PQI
Samsung:
Until 2014, Samsung named CMR (Clear Motion Rate), but from 2015 the name changed to PQI Hz (Picture Quality Index)
Sony:
Sony continues to use the mark: Motionflow to refer to the improvement of their TV 2015 Hz.
LG:
LG named his improvement MCI (Motion Clarity Index) until 2014, has now been appointed PMI (Picture Mastering Index)
Panasonic:
Like other brands has changed its name changed BLS to BMR (Backlight Motion Rate)

Conclusion:

We have clarified so that they serve the HZ, and what is the name given to this value each brand. We consider it an important factor in choosing a TV but we will focus on the native panel frequency, not the value that is advertised and we do not know where that number comes out. Remember that there are only 50, 100 or 200Hz panels.
