Samsung AU9000. Is It a good tv?

The Samsung AU9005 is a mid-range 2021 4K TV. This is the best non-QLED model of the brand for this year. CrystalColor color technology has good color reproduction. The VA panel has a native frequency of 50Hz, typical of the low range, but the VA panel obtains good contrast, good for watching movies in the dark but loses color intensity when placed on the side of the screen. The Slim design with less than 3cm thick is possible thanks to the EdgeLED panel which is not the best panel, but allows an UltraSlim design. The Smart platform is one of the best as every year, it includes all the necessary applications and it works really well. Audio is not the best as in all mid-range LED TVs. As an extra in the mid-range it includes the Motion Xcelerator Turbo: The game processor optimizes the sharpness of moving images allowing you to play fluently at 120Hz. The Samsung AU9075 is the same TV as the AU9005, we have not found any difference, it seems that it is a model sold exclusively by stores.

Our opinion Samsung AU9000 (veredict):

Our opinion on the Samsung AU9005 isn't entirely good unless you're really looking for a mid-range TV to play games with. It is not a bad TV to watch TV or movies and the Smart platform is the best but the Samsung AU8005 is almost identical and is cheaper. The best we can say about this TV is that the design is high-end, the image is correct and the Smart is good good. If you are looking for a TV to view from the sides, a TV with an IPS panel is better, which have less contrast, less black blacks but instead have a better viewing angle.

Samsung AU8000 our 2021 review

The Samsung AU8000 is a mid-range TV at a reasonable price. The resolution is 4K as in "all" 2021 televisions. This TV stands out for its UltraSlim design not usual in televisions in this price range. The Smart platform is the best, with all the necessary Apps included. In image quality we highlight the CrystalColor color technology, a little superior to the inferior models. The panel is VA (good contrast and low viewing angle) of 50Hz and 8bits, which are typical characteristics of the low-mid range. If you are looking for 100Hz or 10Bits TVs, you have to look at the high-end QLED, which is much more expensive. The audio is perhaps one of the weakest points, enough for watching TV but poor for cinema. The top AU9000 model includes extra features for gamers.

Our opinion Samsung Samsung AU8000 (veredict):

Our opinion on the Samsung AU8000 is quite good if you find it on sale. It is a good enough TV to please most users who watch TV, sports or movies. Its weak points are the viewing angle and the audio, so if you are going to enjoy a home theater we recommend buying an external audio system and if you have a very spacious dining room, with sofas located in the corners, it is better to look for a TV with IPS panel. If you are a pro gamer, it is better to look for the TV of a higher level such as the AU9000. We recommend you buy this sale TV for about 450£ in 50 inches during 2021.

 Should I buy a 2021 QLED TV? Samsung presents QLED technology at its highest range, the brand's best televisions of the year are the QLED QN95A. These televisions range from the mid-range with the Q60A to the best of the moment capable of fighting with the OLEDs of other brands.

In this post we present all Samsung 2021 QLED televisions, although during this year some of their 2020 televisions are also still for sale that are good and you can find a price reduction: Samsung 2020 QLED range.

The main difference in 2021 between QLED TVs are QLED vs QNLED. The QN are the Neo QLED, which is the new name used by Samsung for its TOP range and which includes Mini LED technology.

Comparison of all Samsung QLED TVs 2021

The Samsung QN95A is the best 4K TV of the brand, an excellent TV and designed to compete with LG's OLEDs. Includes miniLED technology and OneConnect box, 4600 PQI, Micro Dimming Ultimate Pro and 70W of power. All 4 ports are HDMi 2.1

The Samsung QN90A is very similar but with Ultra Viewing Angle, Micro Dimming Ultimate, PQI 4500, Wide Viewing Angle and 60W instead of 70W.

The Samsung QN85A is the last one that includes miniLED technology, it does not have the Ultra Viewing Angle and the panel is ADS, something similar to LG's IPS panels. This TV is very different from the rest of the QLED range and we do not recommend it.

The Samsung Q80A is perhaps our favorite this 2021 among the QLEDs. A native 100Hz FALD ADS panel is what we ask of the good TVs of the moment, the only technical weak point for us is the 8-bit panel, but it should not be too important unless you are looking for the best of the best.

The Samsung Q75A and Samsung Q70A are the same, only the design changes. These models are inferior to the Q80A since the panel is EdgeLED instead of FALD, for us an important factor since we lose in uniformity and contrast, although it allows design with thinner panels. They keep the HDMI 2.1 port and the native 100Hz.

The Samsung Q60A is the simplest of the QLEDs, a native 50Hz EdgeLED panel, for us it is not worth paying for a QLED if we have the other low-end specifications instead. It is not a TV that we recommend.

Samsung Q50A is Samsung's new 32-inch bet with QLED technology. The resolution is FullHD instead of 4K. The best 32-inch TV of the year.

Veredict

As a conclusion we can summarize according to our personal experience and our tastes: that the best Samsung TV this year is the QLED Q80A, it is the television that we would buy ourselves, it includes the main advantages of the best TVs (although not all) at a reasonable price . If you are looking for a top top TV we would look for a TV with an OLED panel and if you are looking to spend less we would not pay what a QLED costs and we would look for Samsung's "classic" 4K televisions such as the AU8005 or the AU9005.

Differences Samsung QN90A vs QN95A

 The Samsung QN95A is the top model, although the QN90A is also very high-end, these are the two best 4K 2021 TVs from Samsung.

Differences between Samsung QN95A and Samsung QN90A

In imaging technologies the main difference is that the QN95A includes Ultra Viewing Angle, Micro Dimming Ultimate Pro and PQI 4600 while the QN90A includes PQI 4500, Wide Viewing Angle and Ultimate UHD Dimming. This means little in terms of PQI, something more important the PRO MicroDimming technology. The audio power is also higher: 70W instead of the 60W of the QN90A.

In extras the QN95A includes one more USB and Bluetooth 5.2 technology, which is superior, it also includes the One Connect Box and the 4 ports are HDMI 2.1

In design they ae the same but the QN90A is black black and the QN95A a slightly lighter carbon color.

Veredict:

Apart from the extras such as the Audio power, the bluetooth technology or the extra USB port that are only extras, the main difference is the OneConnect: especially important if you are going to hang it on the wall.

Samsung QN95A: our advice best TV of 2021?

The Samsung QN95A (QN94A) is the best TV of the brand with 4K resolution for this year 2021. The Samsung QN95A is practically the same TV as the Samsung QN90A, with small differences such as better HDMI ports, OneConnect connectivity, ... The audio is somewhat More powerful. For the rest we can say that it is an excellent TV, offering blacks as well as OLEDs but incredible maximum brightness peaks, the best in HDR content and the best in light or dark situations. The uniformity of the panel is very good and the miniLED technology improves on the previous year's model.

The Samsung QN90A is the best of Samsung for 2021 with 4K resolution, this very high-end TV competes directly with OLED panels. The new Mini-LED backlighting has a positive effect on the performance of the FALD panel, with excellent screen uniformity, combining almost OLED-like black levels with very sharp brightness peaks and excellent colors, all while retaining a sense of naturalism. and a good viewing angle, although the angle is slightly lower than OLEDs. 100Hz 10-bit panel like all 2021 high-end models. Audio is fine, but better with an external soundbar. The Smart Platform is the best, Tizen has been at the top for years. It is compatible with the best HDR formats but not with Dolby Vision yet, although for us it is the best TV for HDR content at the moment.

Our opinion Samsung QN90A (veredict):

Our opinion on the Samsung QN90A is excellent, this TV presents the best combination of design -performance-bright and dark environments-uniformity ... It has everything you can ask for from a TV except one thing: it is not an OLED TV. It is evident that the QN90A 4K Neo QLED TV has the characteristics to be one of the best 2021 options for those who do not have budget problems. The image quality is amazingly clear and bright. If to all this we add the Tizen platform, the detail of the new remote control and the design, we can say without a doubt that you are not wrong if you buy this TV. It's a bit better than last year's Q95T model.
