LG UP75006: Cheapest 4K 2021

The LG UP7500 TV [UP75006] is of the "mid-low" range. It's one of LG's cheapest TVs for 2021, the resolution is 4K, and the SmartTV platform is good. The Panel IPs allow good viewing angles but the contrast is somewhat poor if you are a home theater lover. It is a TV more than enough for most homes and its price is low, just over £500 in 55 inches, a very affordable price. The LG UP7700 [UP7690 (white) / UP7500 (without Magic Control]) is a "low" end TV but it maintains 4K resolution and one of the best SmartTV platform: webOS 6.0. Our opinion LG UP77006 (veredict):

Our opinion about the LG UP7700 is correct without more, although the most remarkable thing is its good Smart platform is a TV that is good for watching TV, correct for watching sports and not very good if you are a movie lover, especially if you are looking for sound and you watch movies in the dark. We can say that this is a TV for the whole family, a varied use but without being too demanding. The UP7700 is the evolution of last year's model UN7700, which really is just as good in picture, or even a little better in color. The Samsung QLED QN85A is a 2021 high-end TV with 4K resolution. This is the entry NeoQLED, with MiniLED backlight. Our opinion on the Samsung QN85A is good for a normal TV, but not great for a TV of this price. The improvements that Samsung presents in its high-end this year with its NeoQLED do not compensate for the lack of contrast of this TV compared to other TVs of the same price. As we say it is a great TV, but it should be excellent. Our opinion on the LG NANO866PA is not good, the price is for a not cheap mid-range TV and for us it fails to watch movies in a dark room, the contrast ratio is low, and the uniformity of the panel is not good. As a positive, we can highlight others from its great Smart platform, that its IPS panel offers wide viewing angles, ideal for large dining rooms or to watch sports with a group of people. The NANO886 and NANO856 TVs are the same in technical specifications. We recommend spending a little more on the top panel of the NANO916 if you like LG, its color and its Smart, which offers better uniformity.

The LG NAO816PA (NANO806PA) are 4K televisions with EdgeLED panel and 50Hz native frequency. The IPS panel with LG's NANOCELL technology presents good color, natural but with shallow blacks, the image processor is basic. This is not the cheapest NANOCELL but we can consider this TV as mid-range. The Smart platform is excellent and includes Magic Control Remote. and they do not have HDMI 2.1 ports and do not support DolbyVision. The processor is not the Alpha but the basic one of low-end televisions. The difference between the Nano806 and the Nano816 is only aesthetic, the base with a central crescent instead of the two legs.

They are good color reproduction televisions and the best NanoCells like the NANO916PA are good, but much more expensive. In this case, the NANO816PA and the NANO806PA give us models that we don't like, the panel offers little contrast and a processor just like cheaper televisions. We recommend you save with a cheaper TV like the LG UP77006 or look for a TV of the same price but from Sony or Samsung.

The LG UN7300 (UN73006LA) is a low to mid-range 2020 TV at a low price. This is a basic TV but it includes a good Smart platform, with Magic Control included, and 4K resolution, which is what we currently recommend, we leave behind FullHD TVs. The Sony XH8096 is a good TV 2020. Like "all" current TVs includes SmartTV and 4K resolution. It is a not very cheap mid-range model, Sony is a brand a little more expensive than LG or Samsung. The panel is good, the Triluminos technology, but it is EdgeLED and with 50Hz refresh rate in 43 and 49 inches, the XH8505 model improves this data. The connections are good, the Smart works correctly and the Audio is 20W, as in almost all current LED TVs. The IPS panel improves the viewing angle but in contrast is somewhat worse than other panels, making it not the best TV for movies in the dark.

The Sony XG8096 is a mid-low-end 2019 TV, one of the cheapest TVs with 4K-HDDR10 and SmartTV resolution that Sony offers for this year. In image quality it offers the typical colors of Sony, with its Triluminos screen. The technology is IPS so it is best to see in rooms with ambient light and offers a good viewing angle. The panel is 50Hz and EdgeLED is 49 and 43 inches and DirectLED is 55 and higher. DirectLED panels offer better panel uniformity. The Smart platform is fine, it is the same as the higher models. It has no dual tuner and the audio is somewhat inferior to the XG85 modleo since it does not include DolbyAtmos.

Our opinion Sony XG8096(veredict):

Our opinion of the Sony XG8096 is not good for the 43 and 49-inch models as the EdgeLEd panel and the 50Hz are features of low-end televisions. In addition the price of Sony TVs in this category are not so cheap with those of other brands such as LG that offer more for the same price. The main difference with the top models of the series 8 like the XG8596 is the 100Hz of the panel. Anyway it is a TV recommended for those who do not want to pay too much, have a TV compatible with the most common formats currently, enjoy a good Smart and who like the type of image offered by Sony TVs thanks to its Triluminos screen. Not recommended to watch movies in the dark.

LG UM7600: mid range of LG (UM7500) (first half 2020)

The LG UM7600 is a mid-range TV 2019-2020. This TV has an IPS panel with 4K resolution. The IPS panels offer a wide viewing angle, making it ideal for living rooms with sofas on the sides. On the other hand, these types of panels are not recommended for watching TV in the dark, since the blackest blacks are "gray". The LG UM7600 is mid-range, compatible with the main formats, but not with the best HDRs: DolvyVision and HDR10+. Our opinion about the LG UM7600 is good if you want to spend little and have one of the best Smart platforms that allows you to access many applications such as HBO or NetFlix. The price is adjusted and the image quality is correct for the price you have, but we do not recommend it if you like to watch movies in the dark. On the other hand it is suitable if you go to the TV from the sides. Otherwise it's fine, a bit for all kinds of content and with the current resolution that is 4K; We do not recommend buying FullHD TVs anymore. If you are looking for a similarly priced TV but to watch movies in the dark we recommend you to search for the Samsung RU7405.

LG SM9000 / SM9010: Best TV with IPS panel

The LG SM9000 / SM9010 is one of the best LCD-LED TVs of 2019-2020. Samsung presents its NanoCell panel as the best alternative to the top of the range: OLED. The IPS panel allows an image with a wide angle of view, on the other hand it loses a bit of contrast if we see dark scenes with the lights off. The lighting of the panel is FullArray with control by zones, which allows to control better the details in images they present blacks and clear at the same time. The resolution is 4K and is compatible with the best HDR formats such as DolbyVision (not compatible with HDR10 +). The screen size is 49 and 75 "for the SM9000 and 55 and 65" for the SM9010. The Smart webOS platform is one of the best, if not the best, together with Samsung's Tizen. It includes the Magic Remote control and 40W audio.

Our opinion about the LG SM9010 is good, very good if you are looking for a great TV, with natural colors (less strident than the Samsung), incredible details in high quality content like HDR or 4K. One of the strengths of LG in recent years is its good Smart platform, complete and easy to use. This is not a TV recommended for those who want to see movies in the dark as if they were in the cinema, because if the film is dark and the room is with the lights off the blacks are not completely black, they look somewhat gray. On the other hand an excellent TV to watch sports, for large rooms thanks to its good viewing angle and perhaps too much if what you are looking for is a TV to watch TV since you can save by looking for a cheaper model.

LG SM8200: The cheapest NanoCell. Not recommended

The LG SM8200 is the cheapest LG NanoCell of 2019. This TV has 4K resolution and is compatible with HDR10. The panel is EdgeLED so its uniformity is not as good as the FALD. IPS technology allows good viewing angles but loses in as it shows the deepest blacks. The SM8200 does not include the Alpha7 processor and is not compatible with the best HDR formats like DolvyVision, although the panel itself is 10 bits. The Smart platform is one of the best and includes the Magic Remote that facilitates the use of the platform, which includes all the necessary applications.

Our opinion about the LG SM8200 is not good in general, it is an IPS TV so it offers good viewing angles but the native 50Hz and the EdgeLED technology are specifications for mid-low range TVs, so its high price is not justified. Although being NanoCell colors are good, the uniformity of the panel and the level of blacks is not the best. The Smart platform is up, because it has the same as the TOP models LG 2019. Our advice is to buy a cheaper TV if we are not going to see the best HDR content and thus save a lot in our budget.

Our opinion about the LG LM6300 is good if you are looking for a fullHD TV. we recommend you always buy televisions today with the best resolution: 4K, but it is true that most users will never see the difference, since the FullHD resolution is free for DTT, sports, movies, etc. .. The LG SM8600 is a high-end TV for sale in 2019. This TV is NanoCell, which means that it is one of the best LG TVs leaving OLEDs aside. The panel is IPS so it presents a wide angle of view but we do not recommend it if you like to watch TV with the lights off, since its black level is poorer than in TVs with VA panels or of course OLED / QLED . The resolution is the best of the moment: UltraHD, and it is compatible with the best HDR formats; HDR10 and DolbyVision (not compatible with HDR10 +). The image processor is the Alpha7, which is powerful without becoming the best at the moment. The Smart platform is the best, continues in the TOP LG in this aspect and includes the Magic Remote.

It is a good option for those looking for a good image and a good Smart (one of the most complete), for large rooms where you will not always watch TV from the front. It presents a wide range of colors and compatibility with some of the best HDR content. It is not recommended for those who enjoy watching movies in the dark. The alternative with deeper blacks is the Samsung Q60R, which has a similar price.

LG UM7390: TV white color frame

The LG UM7390 is a TV 2019-2020 that is available in 43 and 49 inches. This TV is 4K (UHD) what we currently recommend and is very similar to the other TVs of the LG 7 series. The panel is IPS so it is better to see with light in the room especially if we are going to see rather dark films, against the angle of view is wide. The uniformity of the panel is good and the Smart one of the best, although it does not include the MagicRemote control of LG. The main difference with the UM7500 is the design, in this case it is white, which does not include the MagicRemote control and has fewer ports (3xHDMI), the price difference is about £50, which is what the command costs so we recommend you buy the LG UM7500 or LG UM7600.

Our conclusion is that we only recommend the LG UM7390 if we really look for a white TV, for living room or kitchen.

Sony XG8505: our opinion (XG8596)

The Sony XG8505 is a mid-high-end model 2019-2020, is a 4K TV compatible with HDR and all current high-quality content. As technical aspects we can highlight that it is an LCD-LED is EdgeLED Local Dimming 100Hz. The 100Hz is the best of the moment, ideal for scenes with fast movements such as action movies or sports, against the EdgeLED is for us a bit lower than DirectLED TVs that present greater uniformity, but is only available in high-end models . The panel is 8Bits + FCR (simulates 10bits) to improve the range of colors, makes it compatible with HDR formats but is not a 10-bit panel. The panel type and Triluminos technology offers acceptable natural and black colors, the viewing angle is good. The Sony XG8505 has all the tuners and connectors needed today. Sony continues, for years now that incorporates, the Android Smart platform, this year Oreo, which promises to be faster than the previous Android Smart, works well but is not better than the LG or Samsung platforms.

Our opinion about the Sony XG8505 is not good at all because of its limited contrast, it is not a bad TV but for the price it presents is not the best TV we can buy if we want to watch movies in the dark. On the contrary it is ideal for gamers because of its low inputlag, to watch sports or for salons with sofas on the sides, ... Returning to the price is a good TV for most, perhaps too expensive for those who only want a current TV with SmartTV, compatible with high resolution formats. This models only available from 55 inches, a large screen. The model 2018 XF9005 has a similar price and is better for cinema because of its better level of blacks.
