Philiph PUS7809: review of the cheapest 4K TV 2014

The Philips PUS7809 is a 4K model 2014. Philips presents their TV with 3840x2160 resolution (UltraHD) in relatively small screen sizes: 42, 49 and 55 inches. The Philips PUS7809 is an economic 4K LED TV, probably it is the cheapest UHD TV in 2014. In image quality, in addition to 4K resolution, has MicroDimming Pro technology to enhance the contrast of the panel. The IPS panel is offering low contrast levels, although its technology helps solve part of their problem. For details and image processing is a good TV, the panel is 100Hz and 600Hz PMR, enough to make a great picture. This model includes a 3D with passive technology and using the 4K for offers a great image(2K for each eye). It provides bright and natural-looking images. The Philips SmartTV still lagging behind other brands, especially in quality and quantity of content.

Conclusion (verdict):

Our view of the Philips PUS7809 is good, although we are not convinced buy 4K TVs sizes under 55 inches screen. The picture looks really good, although it is inferior to the best TV 4K: Hz value and have less contrast than other models with VA panel. The 3D is very good, uses passive technology and includes 4 pairs of 3D glasses. Best of PUS7809 is its very affordable price for a TV UHD. The worst its contrast and lack of any HDMI 2.0 port. We recommend buying this model, especially if we want a 4K LED TV but have a low budget. Not recommended for gamers TV, the inputlag around 80ms.
