LG NANO916 vs Samsung Q95T: which is better?

advertising
LG NANO 9 series TVs and Samsung's superior 9 series QLEDs are the best 4K LCD-LED TVs of the moment, along with the Sony XH9505.

These televisions are high-end and share some main features such as 4K resolution, a good Smart platform, ... but there the similarities end. in terms of image quality and the technologies they use. The connections are good and both have an HDMI 2.1

Panel
The panel of the LG NanoCells is IPS, despite all the improvements in contrast it is still an IPS panel so the deepest blacks stay in dark grays, they are not at the level of the panel of the Samsung QLED Q95T. On the other hand, the IPS panel improves the viewing angle above the QLED.

As for the control zones, the Samsung QLED Q95T is 120 zones for only 32 of the LG, in this aspect, which is really very important for the image quality, the QLED is much higher, as well as the maximum brightness that is also very superior.

HDR:
Both TVs are HDR10 and HLG compatible but the difference is that LG offers Dolby Vision, while Samsung supports HDR10 +.

Design:
The LG NANOCELL is somewhat thinner.

Price:
  • LG 55NANO916  £1,200
  • Samsung QE55Q95T  £1,500

Conclusion:

In general we can say that the LG NanoCell 9 16 is good but the Samsung QLED Q95T is better. Although we believe that it is not an entirely fair comparison for the price difference, perhaps comparing the Samsung Q80T with the Nano916 makes more sense, or the LG CX OLED with the QLED Q95T. In short, if you do not have budget problems, we advise you to buy the Samsung Q95T as it is better in all aspects.
