Sony W955B: The best HDTV by Sony 2014. Wedge design

The Sony KDL-W955BBU is the top of the Sony LED TV FullHD 2014. It's a really expensive TV, great design and sound. Sony has decided to greatly enhance your audio system with a new wedge-shaped design. This TV can become the best HDTV 2014 IPS regarding Audio and design, but image quality isn't excellent. The Sony KDL-W955 features the new Sony Network (SmartTV) and a 3D scene, is compatible with SimulView. Connections are 4xHDMI and 3xUSB, with the option to record on external USB drives with the most common formats (FAT, NTFS, ...). Compatibility is not an issue in the 2014 models because it accepts MKV, XVID, AVI, ... and have all the tuners including the new DVB-T2. In contrast IPS Panel reduces contrast and increase brightness, so it is advisable for a bright room. The contrast and depth of black is very poor for the money this model.

Conclusion (verdict):

The amazing thing about this TV is its wedge design also has all the extras that include all the top models today. Maybe other brands like LG and Samsung have more extras, but are not very helpful. The Sony W955B is inadvisable 2014 LED TV if you look at the image quality it offers, as its price moves it out of reach of most users. The only fault found their wedge design, is that it prevents hang on the wall properly. The inputlag is very low, less than 15ms, so it is ideal for gamers. We emphasize that we do not advise buying the Sony KDL-W955 for its lack of contrast in dark images.

Sony KDL-W905A: is it better than Samsung F8000?

The Sony W905A is one of the best LED TV 2013, is available in 40, 46 and 55 inches. This model stands out for its image quality, really amazing. The Black levels are excellent, and in this case, the 3D technology is active. Sony has achieved with this model W905A, a LED TV where the sound and picture quality is what really matters. We can say that the worst aspect is the SmartTV system, where the interface and applications are really poor. As an extra highlight to the "gamers" that this LED TV is less than 20ms of input lag.

The Sony W905A is an expensive TV. If you don't have budget constraints, it will be a very good choice. Black Level image and sound quality are axcellent, ... The viewing angle could be better and 3D is active, although it is worth, not excellent. If you are a real "gamer" this is your LED TV. Anyway we recommend reviewing the Samsung F8000 model, which is at the same level ...

This Sony LED TV is the best that can be found in 2013, discarding 4K/OLED. The Sony Bravia KDL-W905A is available in 40, 46 and 55 inches, while waiting for new sizes that will during 2013. This new model of Sony seems to have improved for USB playback, 3D technology and significantly it improves the sound of the 2012 models, probably 3 of the worst aspects of its 2012 models. The SmartTV, Sony Network, is also improved but is still far from the Samsung SmartTV that it is the best.

The Sony KDL-TV W905A is the best LED TV of Sony for 2013, if we ignore the X90005A, that is 4K and costs a small fortune. This TV is designed to compete with the best LED TV of big brands, as Samsung F8000 and seem to have done a great job. The design has changed completely and has launched this series with much more modern style. This Sony LED TV also improves the sound of its predecessor, the HX850 model,  it has  240Hz refresh rate, without without taking into account the MotionFlow. Remains to be seen how it behaves with the input-lag, contrast levels and USB playback.
