Comparison LG C9 vs. Samsung Q90R

advertising
We present our comparison between two of the best televisions of the year: LG OLED C9 and Samsung QLED Q90R.
The main difference is the type of panel: Panel QLED vs OLED vs LCD, but simplifying we can say that the OLED have a contrast and deep blacks unbeatable and that the QLED are the brightest on the market.
Both televisions are excellent and you will not fail choosing one of the two, its main sharers will be the Sony OLEDs: AG9 and the Panasonic GZ950 / GZ1000.
Most features are shared, 4K resolution, good Smart platform, connections, ...

Differences:
The main differences we find is in image quality, although each one is very good in its own way.

The LG C9 offers the deepest blacks and an excellent panel uniformity, when we watch TV from the side the image does not degrade. It is compatible with DolbyVision but not with HDR10 +

The Samsung Q90R is very bright, the HDR content looks impressive. The angle of view improves the previous QLED models but is not at the OLED level. Handles images very well with fast movements, something better for sports. It is compatible with HDR10 + but not with DolbyVision.

Conclusion:

Our personal opinion, without taking into account measurements, is that the OLED LG C9 is superior, it is a better TV so at the same price, we would buy the OLED C9 instead of the QLED Q90R. The reasons that would make us opt for the Samsung Q90R are: if we are going to watch TV in a very bright situation, the two have few reflections but being brighter can dim more or if we are afraid of the image retention of OLEDs (not a problem for regular domestic use)
